Slimbridge Parish Council plan
On 23rd July 2020 the Parish of Slimbridge was conferred with the status of Neighbourhood under the Localism Act 2011 and Part 2 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. The following documents are available:

Slimbridge Neighbourhood Development Plan - SEA and HRA Screening Opinion
For the purpose of demonstrating that the NDP is unlikely to have significant effects on the environment; as required by regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) (Amendment) Regulations 2015), the above document comprises Stroud District Council’s statement of reasons.
Pre-submission Consultation and Publicity - 23 January 2023 to 5 March 2023(Concluded)
On 26th July 2023 Slimbridge Parish Council submitted their draft neighbourhood development plan and related documents to Stroud District Council under Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (As Amended). These can be found below.

Notice of publication of the Slimbridge Neighbourhood Development Plan proposal under Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (As Amended) and the Localism Act 2011.
The period for making representations ran from 18th September 2023 to 30th October 2023.

Independent Examination
Stroud District Council appointed John Slater MRTPI as independent examiner of the plan.
On 20th November the Examiner submitted the following Initial Comments to be addressed by the Parish Council and the District Council:
Slimbridge NDP Examination Initial Comments
The examination concluded on 14th January 2024.
The examiner recommended that the plan, once modified, should proceed to a Referendum.
An addendum to the final report was issued on 2nd February to give clarity on the latest NPPF guidance
On 21st March 2024, Stroud District Council’s Environment Committee decided that the Slimbridge Neighbourhood Plan, once modified in accordance with the Examiner’s Report recommendations, should proceed to a referendum.
Referendum
A Referendum relating to the adoption of the Slimbridge Neighbourhood Development Plan will be held on Thursday 2nd May 2024.

The question which was asked in the Referendum was be: "Do you want Stroud District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Slimbridge to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
The result was as follows:
- Yes = 371 votes (84.7%)
- No = 62 votes (14.2%)
- Turnout 45%
