Freedom of Information (FOI) / Environmental Information Requests (EIR)
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 gives a public right of access to information held by public bodies, and places obligations on public bodies to release the information on request if it is not subject to an exemption.
If you can’t find the information you are looking for on our website, you can submit a request to see information held by the council.

Once you have checked the information is not already available, you will need to put your request in writing so we have a permanent record of it.
How do I make a valid request?
To make a valid request it must:
- be in writing,
- include your real name (even if you're making the request on behalf of an organisation),
- include an address to reply (usually your email address),
- describe the information you are requesting.
